Matt McLean

Managing Partner, Portfolio Manager

Matt McLean is Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager at Broyhill Asset Management. He and Patrick share responsibility for research, portfolio construction, and management of the firm's strategies.

Matt joined Broyhill as a Senior Research Analyst after more than a decade in equity research and investing. Most recently he spent three years as a Senior Research Analyst at Millennium Management. Before that he worked in equity research at Sanford Bernstein and previously worked as a research associate at R.S. Investments after beginning his career at J.P. Morgan.

Matt earned an A.B. in Economics from Harvard University, where he also continued his journey as a lifelong athlete. Outside of investing, he enjoys running, triathlons, and wrangling his three active young boys.

Having been raised in the Northeast, he is determined to bring some “Yankee” mentality to the South, although he is enjoying assimilating into his southern lifestyle.
